Sacramento- Today, a unanimous California State Senate authorized free admission to California State Parks for veterans on Veterans Day and Memorial Day. The Bill, AB 150, was introduced by Assemblymember Kristin Olsen (R-Modesto). It passed the Assembly unanimously on May 29, and must be reviewed by the Assembly this week before becoming law. Nathan Weaver, Preservation Advocate with Environment California, issued the following statement:

“I applaud Assemblymember Olsen and the California Legislature for approving this legislation. This small step helps ensure that all Californians have access to our parks and beautiful places, and helps show the gratitude we all share for our men and women in uniform. I look forward to working with preservation leaders like Assemblymember Olsen to ensure robust funding for California’s parks and protect our beautiful places from fracking, development, and other threats.”
