California is home to some of the country's most beautiful places, with 8 national parks, hundreds of state parks and over 4 million acres of wild forests. Unfortunately, too many of our beautiful places have been lost to logging, mining, oil drilling, and overdevelopment. That’s why we are working to protect California's parks and critical wildlife habitat, and the laws that protect them.
National Parks. California is a stunningly beautiful place. But over the past 30 years, Congress has neglected our national parks, leaving them underfunded and falling into disrepair. Now beloved places like Yosemite are plagued by air pollution and threatened by encroaching vacation homes and oil, gas and timber interests. More
Wild Forests Our national forests protect clean water, preserve undisturbed wildlife habitat, and provide backcountry recreational opportunities for millions of Americans. Unfortunately, only a fraction of these forests remains undisturbed by extractive industries: 16,000 miles of roads already traverse their acreage. More
State Parks.The governor wants to close Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve, Montana de Oro State Park, Will Rogers State Historic Park (which just finished a $5 million restoration!) and 45 other state parks throughout California. take action
