Ban BPA in California
More than half a million babies are born in California every year. You can help protect them from exposure to Bisphenol-A (BPA) through their plastic baby bottles, sippy cups, and formula cans! State Senator Fran Pavley, the heroine of 2006’s landmark global warming legislation, has authored a bill that will ban BPA in these products as of January 1, 2010. SB 797 has already passed the State Senate; the State Assembly will vote sometime in the next two weeks.
The vote will be VERY close. The chemical industry has 10 lobbyists in Sacramento, trying to make sure that BPA remains on the California market in children’s products. Your assembly member needs to hear from YOU as well as the chemical industry lobbyists. Make our children BPA-free!
