Hard times call for extreme measures, but it just doesn't make sense to cut state parks funding to zero. Our state parks bring in critical revenue, and are an even more important refuge for Californians in this economy.

Not only do they let us enjoy California's natural beauty with our friends and families, but they are an important part of our state's economy. We need to keep parks like Tomales Bay and Angel Island open. As a very small part of our budget, I am asking you to protect our state parks and beaches from massive closings. For every dollar the state puts into our state parks and beaches, they bring $2.35 back to our economy through tourism. They pay for themselves. Sincerely,
