Expertise

Clean Water, Toxic Chemicals

Background

Ms. Palitz directs Environment California’s Environmental Health projects. She is working to improve the way that chemicals are regulated, so that consumers can be sure that chemicals are safe in the products we use, the food we eat, and the water we drink. She came to Environment California from CLEEN, the California League for Environmental Enforcement Now, a coalition of public-interest litigators who sue toxic polluters under Proposition 65.

As a long-time journalist under the byline Pam King, Ms. Palitz covered sports, religion, government and education for several California newspapers, including the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, San Francisco Chronicle and Contra Costa Times. She was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for a series on bilingual education, and was named female sportswriter of the year. Ms. Palitz graduated from Yale, and earned her JD from the Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco.
